Report: Source Close to Dwyane Wade Says Lakers and Heat Are ‘Appealing Destinations’ for Him

Recent reports suggesting that Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls will likely reach a buyout in the coming season has caused excitement for fans of both the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. While ESPN has previously reported that LeBron James‘ camp is confident that Wade will sign with the Cavs, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald is now reporting that Wade is considering other destinations as well.
According to Jackson’s sources, Wade returning to Miami remains a definite possibility:

“Though ESPN reported that LeBron James’ camp expects Dwyane Wade to end up with Cleveland if he reaches a buyout with the Bulls, a Wade associate has been telling people that Miami and Los Angeles are also appealing destinations for Wade.”
He added context to the scoop, saying that the Wade associate he spoke with has predicted what Wade would do in the past:
“So we’re not attempting to mind-read Wade,” Jackson wrote. “But the person who mentioned Miami and L.A. to me was the same person who first alerted me to my scoop a few years ago that Wade’s negotiations with the Heat were not going well – the first time that information ever surfaced (and a year later, the sides divorced).”
Wade heading back to Miami is far from a sure thing, but at the very least it seems clear that the three-time NBA champion is considering a return to the team that drafted him.
