Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic is expected to return from injury during the Heat’s upcoming four-game homestand, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

While sources around Dragic were positive about his quick return to the lineup, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra was noncommittal.

“There isn’t a definitive update,” Spoelstra said on Tuesday, later adding, “We’ll continue taking it day by day.”

The 10-year veteran has been plagued by injuries this season, having missed one game with an injury to his right foot and seven so far because of inflammation in his right knee. Dragic was pulled prior to the Los Angeles Lakers game on Nov. 18, and he had his knee drained of fluid the following day.

When Dragic hasn’t been in the lineup this season, the Heat’s offense has suffered. With Dragic, the Heat have averaged 108.4 points per 100 possessions. Without the point guard, the Heat have posted a woeful 101.3 points per 100 possessions, a figure which stands as the least efficient offense in the league.

The Heat need Dragic to contribute his 16.3 points per game as soon as possible.
