Over the past few days, it has become clear that the Miami Heat are interested in pairing current star player Jimmy Butler with former MVP Russell Westbrook.
According to a Monday report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Miami is a destination that “appeals” to the star point guard.
This is great news for the Heat as it only improves their negotiating stance with Westbrook’s current team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The reason for that is because the Thunder and Westbrook have an incredibly tight-knit relationship, and it has been assumed that the organization will do all it can to ship Westbrook to a destination that he will be happy in.
With all the smoke surrounding this story, chances are good there is some very real fire to the rumors that are linking Westbrook to the Heat.
Only time will tell if he ultimately does end up in South Florida on a roster that is starting to look quite exciting.
