Miami Heat Rumors: Heat Remain Finalist in Kevin Durant Sweepstakes
- Updated: July 3, 2016

Hold on Miami Heat fans — it’s not over just yet.
After a full day of internet speculation, many NBA writers and insiders had the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder as finalists in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.
From what I understand, it's Thunder versus Warriors for Durant.

However, a late report from InsideHoops.com has sources saying that Miami is not out of the running for Durant. The Heat sent an entourage to the Hamptons that included Pat Riley, Micky Arison, Alonzo Mourning, and Erik Spoelstra. They met for two hours early on Sunday morning with Durant before he had one last face-to-face with Thunder ownership.

A source tells InsideHoops that the Miami Heat remain a finalist to sign Kevin Durant, that it's not just down to the Thunder or Warriors.

If Riley manages to rope this whale into South Beach it would be his biggest accomplishment yet. Yes, even bigger than LeBron James in 2010. Considering the amount of uncertainty surrounding the Heat roster, to convince a top three player in the world to buy into your organization would simply be incredible.
According to reports from ESPN, Durant is expected to make his announcement tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow will be the beginning of a new era in Heat basketball, an era that has Durant wearing red, black, and white.
