There is a hot debate between Miami Heat fans as to who should start at the point guard position next season, with the two primary candidates being Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow.
However, it appears Heat team president Pat Riley put an end to that conversation on Friday.
The general manager believes Dragic still holds the rights to the prestigious position.

Dragic, 33, has been the team’s starting point guard since he arrived in Miami in 2015. During that stretch, the veteran has earned an All-Star selection, posted great stats, and helped lead the Heat to the playoffs.
However, the Slovenian national had a disappointing 2018-19 season as he put up a discouraging 13.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in just 36 games.
Meanwhile, Winslow averaged a career-high 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 66 games last season. When Dragic went down with an injury early last season, the Heat enjoyed quite a bit of success with Winslow inserted into the starting point guard position.
Whether Riley was simply juicing up Dragic to increase his trade stock or not is unclear. However, the upward trajectory and production point to Winslow continuing to get more playing time on the Heat.
After all, Winslow is just 23 years old and is starting to come into his own as a star in the NBA.
