Miami Heat Rumors: Heat Pushing Wolves for Jimmy Butler Trade Today
- Updated: October 3, 2018
The rumors and reports regarding a potential trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat regarding All-Star Jimmy Butler have been somewhat back and forth as of late.
While signs were pointing to a deal getting done last week, talks appeared to have stalled early this week. Despite that, it seems the Heat remain in the driver’s seat to acquire the disgruntled star.
According to one NBA insider, the Wolves are currently focused on talks with Miami.

Miami, Minnesota have been consistently engaged in Jimmy Butler talks for several days, with Heat pushing Timberwolves for an answer today on a revised offer, league sources tell ESPN. Minnesota’s conversations are relatively sparse elsewhere; remain focused on Miami.

This is huge news for fans who are hoping Miami lands Butler. While it seems the Timberwolves are asking for quite a bit, it also seems as though the market may be somewhat thin when it comes to a deal.
Hopefully, the Heat are able to get a deal done without giving up all of the players the Wolves reportedly covet. If they were able to acquire Butler while also holding onto budding stars such as Bam Adebayo and Josh Richardson, any trade would be seen as a huge win for Miami.
Whatever happens, it seems that Butler may be destined to play in South Florida. Hopefully that result comes sooner rather than later.
