Report: Miami Heat expand free TV access to 6 Southwest Florida counties

The Miami Heat have reached a television agreement that gives fans in Southwest Florida a free over-the-air option beginning with Friday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

The partnership will put Heat games on WINK 11.3 for viewers in Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Glades, Hendry and DeSoto counties. The broadcasts will also be available on Xfinity channel 207.

The Heat host Detroit at 8 p.m. EST on Oct. 23, giving fans their first opportunity to use the new arrangement that evening.

Where to watch Heat games in Southwest Florida

The channel number is an important part of the announcement. Viewers looking for the game should tune to WINK’s 11.3 digital subchannel, rather than the station’s main feed.

That distinction matters for fans who might otherwise turn on WINK and expect basketball to replace its usual programming.

The six-county arrangement covers the Fort Myers and Naples area. The over-the-air option gives viewers an alternative to watching through a cable subscription, while existing Xfinity customers have a specified channel to find the games.

The agreement will cover a full season of Heat games. Fans should check individual listings rather than assume the station will carry every matchup.

Heat continue expanding their local television reach

The Southwest Florida agreement follows another regional addition earlier this month. My15 WTCN joined Miami’s broadcast lineup for West Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast.

That arrangement added another free over-the-air outlet alongside WPLG in the Miami market. Eric Reid, John Crotty, Jason Jackson, Amy Audibert and Manso will be part of the coverage on WTCN and WPLG.

After facing Detroit, Miami visits Charlotte on Saturday before returning home to play Dallas on Monday. Fans can consult the Heat’s 2026-27 schedule for upcoming opponents and tipoff times.
