Giannis Antetokounmpo had a clear response when his children suggested he deal with an iguana outside his Miami home: Someone else could handle it.
The Miami Heat star stayed inside with his family as the reptile occupied the backyard. When his children questioned why he would not go after it himself, Antetokounmpo turned the assignment back over to them.

“Me? No way I’m not going out there,” Antetokounmpo said.
He suggested his children take a turn before directing another demand at the visitor.
“You go get it,” he said. “Are you scared? Okay, go get it. I’m scared. … GET OUT OF MY BACKYARD!”
The exchange gave fans a family moment to enjoy as Antetokounmpo settles into Miami. His children wanted their dad to solve the problem, while he was quite content to issue instructions from a distance.

The encounter also appeared to draw a response from Tim Hardaway Jr., which was a comment from Hardaway’s verified Instagram account beneath a post about the iguana.

Fans had their own reactions. In a Reddit discussion of the clip, commenters joked about Antetokounmpo recruiting his children to help and offered their own observations about encountering iguanas in South Florida.
There are familiar faces accompanying Antetokounmpo through his basketball transition, too. Vin Baker recently explained the personal relationship behind his move to Miami’s coaching staff, continuing a connection that began in Milwaukee and included officiating Antetokounmpo’s wedding.
The backyard problem required a different kind of assistance. For this particular encounter, Antetokounmpo was happy to let someone else take the lead.
