Even though Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade’s NBA career is now officially in the books, the final tributes to his memorable career continue on.
One such tribute was from former Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who found a way to combine his praise with a little humor.

Congrats on a GREAT career @DwyaneWade Way to close it out in style my brother. Welcome to the rocking chair club

Wade did indeed finish up in style, collecting a triple-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the 113-94 loss to Brooklyn. He got the start after the Heat had been eliminated from the playoffs, which shifted the focus to making sure that his final game was a memorable one.
Bryant spent all 20 of his NBA seasons with the Lakers before retiring after the 2015-16 season. Wade spent the bulk of his 16 years in the league with the Heat, playing one season with the Chicago Bulls before then moving on for one half of the 2017-18 campaign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In February 2018, he was dealt back to Miami to close out his career.
A key figure in helping the Lakers win five NBA titles, Bryant holds an edge over Wade, who served as an integral part of three league championships for the Heat.
Each was joined by Shaquille O’Neal in capturing championship glory, with Wade and O’Neal teaming up to bring home the Heat’s championship in 2006.
Wade has yet to indicate any firm plans regarding his future, but will have some catching up to do to match Bryant’s post-playing efforts.
The Lakers icon won an Academy Award in March 2018 for Best Animated Short Film. However, Wade is married to actress Gabrielle Union, so he’s certainly comfortable within the entertainment realm.
