Dwyane Wade and Dion Waiters had a peculiar exchange on Twitter late Friday night.
First, the current Chicago Bulls guard tweeted at Waiters asking for a T-shirt he was promoting.

The Syracuse University product responded by thanking Wade for his support calling him a “GOAT.”

But, things got really interesting when Waiters replied to fan who told him to convince Wade to return to the Miami Heat.

Apparently, playing alongside Wade is on Waiters’ bucket list because he then went on to retweet this picture from a fan.

This is not the first time that Wade has been friendly with Waiters on Twitter. After Waiters signed his four-year, $52 million deal with the Heat, Wade congratulated his fellow shooting guard.

However, Wade picked up his $24 million player option to stay in Chicago for this upcoming season. While there were some rumors that Wade might be bought out of his contract, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg told ESPN.com that is unlikely for now.
“As of right now, no. I don’t see that,” Hoiberg told ESPN. “Dwyane, he’s going to have an important role on this team as a mentor. He’s going to obviously play for us and hopefully play well. And take the role of leadership. It’s going to be very important with him.”
If Wade is able to secure a buyout later this season, Miami might have just the right amount of money to bring him back to South Beach. Last week, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald floated the idea that Miami could save its $4.3 million exception for a later date:
“Should the Heat uses its exception on a player who might not play a lot or save it as a carrot for a player bought out in January or February? Say, for example, Dwyane Wade? (And don’t think this thought hasn’t occurred to the Heat.)”
This would require some patience from the Heat, but if Waiters is willing to play the alongside the Heat’s franchise icon, there could be homecoming party in the near future.
