Miami Heat News: Hassan Whiteside Misses Practice With Latest Injury
- Updated: October 22, 2018

Miami Heat big man Hassan Whiteside missed Monday’s team practice with a groin injury.
The severity of the injury is not yet clear and there have been no announcements regarding the timetable of his return. While Whiteside not participating in Monday’s practice could be little more than a precautionary measure, it is never good to be dealing with a possibly nagging injury this early in the season.

Luckily, the Heat are not due to take the court again until Wednesday. While it is not clear whether or not Whiteside will be available for that game, it would be understandable if the Heat chose to rest the talented big man.
Through three games, Whiteside has once again proven that he can be a dominant force near the basket. So far, the former second-round draft pick is averaging 10.7 points and 14.3 rebounds per game.
The Heat currently hold a 1-2 record on the 2018-19 season, but they could just as easily be undefeated. An epic opening-night comeback was spoiled by a late-game miscue. Their home opener on Saturday night came down to the wire with Miami losing by just one point to the Charlotte Hornets, 113-112.
Regardless of whether Whiteside is ready to go on Wednesday night, the Heat will look to get back to .500 on the season.
