It’s pretty fascinating to see how the NBA has managed to remain in the news despite the fact that a single game hasn’t been played in weeks.
Of course, the current stoppage of play is due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Since people all over the United States began practicing self-isolation, NBA players and fans alike have expressed their sadness over missing basketball.
Hopefully, this tournament will help fill at least some of that void.
Before the 2019-20 season was put on pause, Jones Jr. was enjoying a breakout season with the Heat. He was averaging 8.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
His brightest moment came during All-Star Weekend, when he was crowned the Slam Dunk Contest winner.
As for Durant, he hasn’t played a real-life game in many months due to the ruptured Achilles he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals.
Surely, the two-time champion has been trying to get his basketball fix by playing hours of NBA 2K20. That might make him a heavy favorite for his matchup with the Heat dunk artist.
