The Miami Heat are one the best teams in the NBA right now.
Much of their success can be credited to Jimmy Butler, who has brought the Heat star play and strong leadership. The newcomer shared his thoughts on the Heat and their potential following their overtime win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
The win came in Butler’s 20th game in a Heat uniform.
Butler, 30, signed a four-year, $142 million contract with the Heat last summer.
The 6-foot-7 forward led the Heat past the Raptors, 121-110. In the process, the Heat tied a franchise record for the team’s best start after 20 games in a season. Butler torched the defending champions with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists in 41 minutes of action.
While the Heat weren’t talked about among other elite teams before the year started, they are absolutely in the contention conversation after their superb start to the season. In fact, the Heat have defeated a couple of star-powered squads this season, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets.
The Heat have another tough task ahead of them, as they take on the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
