When Miami Heat superstar guard Dwyane Wade dropped 35 points on the Toronto Raptors Sunday night, he not only set a franchise record for bench scoring — he also sent a message to his son.

Wade’s 16-year-old son Zaire is a point guard for American Heritage School in Miami, Fla. It seems that, like many teenagers, the young Wade was overestimating his own abilities and underestimating his father’s accomplishments.
In response, Father Prime belied his 36 years and 16 seasons with a magical performance that included six assists and five rebounds.
Some day, every father has to face the fact that he can no longer dominate his son in a one-on-one matchup. With a son as talented as Zaire Wade appears to be, perhaps that day is coming. But it certainly hasn’t come yet.
