Aaron Gordon Reveals Conversation He Had With Dwyane Wade Following Diss Track

Aaron Gordon Dwyane Wade Diss

Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon recently made waves after launching a diss track aimed towards Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade.

Although fans thought the audacious song would stir up more acrimony, Gordon revealed to The Athletic’s Josh Robbins that the two stars had an amicable conversation following the release of the track.

“He said he liked my song, and I told him I liked his wine, and it’s really not that big of a deal,” Gordon said.

The high flier showed maturity by diffusing the ordeal with the three-time champion. In fact, Gordon claims he just conducted the video to entertain fans with the world currently devoid of entertainment.

“It’s not that deep,” Gordon said. “It’s for fun. It’s for entertainment. It’s what the people wanted. I was just expressing another side of myself, showing people creativity, the talent, and keep people entertained and kind of light and something to take their minds off of the seriousness of the situation that’s going on around us.”

Gordon, 24, is one of the league’s rising stars.

The veteran’s beef with Wade bursted during the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest back in February. Gordon took umbrage at Wade, who was one of the judges, giving Gordon a nine out of 10 in the final round of the tournament.

As a result, Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. ended up winning the competitive contest.

Due to the controversial and disappointing ending, Gordon said he would not participate in another Slam Dunk Contest.

On the season, Gordon is averaging 14.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He made the playoffs for the first time in his career last year.

There is no timetable for when the 2019-20 season will resume.
