Though the NBA has been shut down since March 11, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has made sure that his teammates can continue to put in work. Butler recently gifted his teammates with basketball hoops so they can still get shots up while the NBA is on hiatus.
Butler was motivated to give these gifts by teammate Tyler Herro, who had vocalized his frustration about his inability to work on his shot.
“I feel like everybody should have an opportunity to still get their work in, so we sent them a couple of baskets, so they could shoot,” said Butler. “Because T-Herro was getting on my nerves, cussing me out because he couldn’t shoot.”
Butler’s intense work ethic has made him a leader in the Heat organization. In his first season with the Heat, Butler was named an All-Star while averaging 20.2 points per game.
Herro, a rookie, has adapted well to the Heat’s unique culture. His ability to positively impact the team in his first year has been important, and his 27.2 minutes per game ranks him 11th among rookies.
Both Herro and Butler have played key roles for the Heat, helping to lead the franchise to a 41-24 record in the Eastern Conference.
