The Miami Heat have just made a move to beef up their frontcourt, as the team has agreed to terms with veteran forward Markieff Morris.
Morris is 31 years of age and just completed his 10th season in the NBA. He has spent the past season and a half with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he won an NBA championship with them in 2020, which ironically came against the Heat.
Morris is a capable scorer who has the ability to get hot from 3-point range. He will also give the Heat some veteran leadership, especially given that he has a world title under his belt.
The power forward spot has been a positional weakness for the Heat. The team took to playing Bam Adebayo and Trevor Ariza at the 4, but neither was a natural fit there.
With Precious Achuiwa jettisoned in favor of veteran point guard Kyle Lowry, Morris could get ample playing time in Miami this coming season.
