Tyler Johnson tweeted out a cryptic message last night leaving fans confused regarding his future with the Miami Heat.

This morning we got a clearer picture of what he was talking about.
That’s because Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical has reported that Johnson has agreed to sign at four-year, $50 million offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets.
This deal comes after Johnson and his representation met with multiple teams, including the Nets, in Chicago over the weekend.
The third-year guard from Fresno State University can sign the offer sheet as early as July 7th. Since Johnson is a restricted free agent, the Heat will have three days to match the hefty price tag.
According to David Aldridge of TNT, there will be a player option in place after the third year. Here is the breakdown for Johnson’s offer in Brooklyn:

Johnson averaged 8.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in the regular season. He played well enough to earn a spot in Coach Erik Spoelstra‘s rotation until he injured his shoulder. The subsequent surgery took him out for the rest of the regular season. However, Johnson did return to play sparingly at the end of the playoffs.
The roster seems to be getting thinner by the day as this would be the third rotation player that has agreed to a deal elsewhere in the league. Luol Deng and Joe Johnson agreed to deals with the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz respectively. Johnson would have been the ideal backup point guard to Goran Dragic this season, but Heat hope that Josh Richardson will develop this offseason in order to help fill that role.
The Heat are scheduled to be meet with Kevin Durant later today, and the result of that meeting will decide how Miami navigates through the rest of free agency. If Durant decides to go elsewhere, the Heat might be able to match Johnson’s offer but it is unlikely given their cap space predicament.
