The Miami Heat‘s injury problems just aren’t going away.
In addition to already being without Justise Winslow and Wayne Ellington, backup center Willie Reed left Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards after hyperextending his right knee at the beginning of the second quarter.
The extent of the injury was not revealed following the game; however, longtime Sun Sentinel Heat reporter Ira Winderman disclosed the latest status Sunday afternoon, per the team’s report:

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra also went on to say that the center is day-to-day for now:
After going undrafted out of Saint Louis University in 2011 and jumping around the D-League, Reed landed with the Brooklyn Nets and played for them the entire 2015-16 NBA season. In Brooklyn, the 6-foot-10 center put up a modest 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 39 outings.
Now Reed, 26, plays a solid role off the Heat’s bench, relieving starter Hassan Whiteside when needed. The big man is averaging 4.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12.5 minutes a game this season. Despite producing low numbers, the journeyman continues to play a critical role in the Heat’s second unit.
The Heat play the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Reed’s next chance to return will be Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
