For 16 seasons, retired Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade graced the NBA landscape and played a key role in leading the franchise to its three NBA titles.
That career will be immortalized on Oct. 22, when a photographic memoir about Wade is released.

Copy for the book will be written by Wade’s collaborator, Associated Press writer Tim Reynolds, while photographs will be used from the collection of Bob Metelus. The unique aspect of the photos used for the publication is that many of them have previously been unpublished.
Long before Wade put on a Heat uniform in 2003, he grew up in the city of Chicago. He eventually played two seasons at Marquette University, competing in 65 contests and averaging 19.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Those numbers helped Wade become the fifth player overall selected in the 2003 NBA Draft. In his third season, he led the Heat to the franchise’s first-ever NBA title and was named Finals MVP. He would later also be part of the Heat title teams in both 2012 and 2013.
In 2016, Wade left to play once season with the Chicago Bulls, following that up with one-half season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In February 2018, he was traded back to the Heat, where he finished his career two months ago.
During his 16 seasons, Wade averaged 22.0 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
