Despite no longer playing in the NBA, the name of former Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade still has enough stature to earn him money off the court. The latest example of this was Wade’s signing of a multiyear deal with WarnerMedia.
The fact that a portion of Wade’s job will involve simply discussing basketball in both the NBA and college makes the signing an easy one to understand. Exactly what content he’ll be producing remains to be seen, but Wade has spoken before about pursuing different opportunities in retirement.
Wade is married to actress Gabrielle Union, who long ago established her credentials in the entertainment field. While a portion of Wade’s new contract is venturing into new territory, his work ethic and dedication will likely help make this endeavor another success for the future Hall of Famer.
Like most Heat fans, Wade is eager to see the team in action, with the start of the Heat’s 2019-20 season set to get underway on Wednesday night. That’s when they will host the Memphis Grizzlies at AmericanAirlines Arena at 7:30 p.m. EST.
