The Miami Heat will once again be without the services of forward Justise Winslow for Saturday night’s road game against the Washington Wizards. However, one report indicates that the Heat are hoping to have him back on the court within the next week.

The absence of the 22-year-old Winslow will mark the fifth straight game that the Heat have been without the fourth-year player. Prior to injuring his right thigh, Winslow had been in the midst of his finest NBA season after having been drafted by the Heat as the 10th player overall in the 2015 draft.
In 61 games this season, Winslow has averaged 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists. While the rebounding average matches his output during the 2017-18 season, the areas of scoring and assists are career-high numbers in those respective categories.
Winslow’s presence is especially needed down the stretch with the Heat attempting to cement a spot in the upcoming postseason. Entering the game against Washington, the Heat have a record of 35-37 and are presently situated in the eighth and final playoff spot. However, that lead is a tenuous one, with their in-state rivals, the Orlando Magic, just one half game behind at 35-38.
The next opportunity for Winslow to play for the Heat will be on Tuesday night, when they host the Magic at American Airlines Arena. That’s followed by a home game against Dallas and a road clash next Saturday night against the New York Knicks.
