With the Los Angeles Lakers’ season falling apart and far below expectations, the organization may look to the Miami Heat for some help with coaching.

Howard, 46, has been an assistant coach with the Heat since 2013. While he had a prolific playing career, he’s also been a gem on the sidelines as he connects really well with players. It makes sense why teams around the league are looking to recruit the up-and-coming coach.

As for the Lakers, their season with head coach Luke Walton at the helm has been a mess. Despite attaining superstar LeBron James in free agency last summer, the team has failed to make the playoffs yet again. The lack of winning in recent years has led many to believe Walton will lose his job after the season ends.

If the Lakers search for new coaches, Howard is expected to garner a ton of interest due to his strong relationship with the four-time MVP. Howard played with and coached James during the All-Star’s stint in Miami. Together, the pair went to four straight NBA Finals and captured two championships in 2012 and 2013.
