Perhaps the greatest form of respect is imitation, and Zaire Wade, son of Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, seems to want to follow in the exact footsteps of his father.
In an Instagram post that he posted, Zaire Wade shared a photo of himself holding a Heat uniform with his name stitched on the back.
Those are some very big shoes to fill for the young man because of Dwyane Wade’s stature, not just in the Heat franchise, but in the NBA as a whole.
The elder Wade is a three-time NBA champion, eight-time All-NBA member, 13-time All-Star, and arguably one of the top three shooting guards the league has ever seen. It goes without saying that the younger Wade will be facing a lot of scrutiny wearing a Heat jersey.
But if his genes are anything like his dad’s, Zaire Wade would be successful just by coming close to any of his father’s accomplishments.
The 17-year-old Wade will be attending Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles in the fall.
