The Miami Heat won’t be selecting near the top of the 2019 NBA Draft, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an opportunity to select a really talented prospect with the No. 13 overall pick.
On Sunday, one Heat insider pegged former University of Tennessee star Grant Williams as a potential great fit in Miami.

While the 2019 draft class had been pegged as a three-player draft for much of last year, fans and experts alike are beginning to find potential diamonds in the rough for teams drafting later in the first round.
Williams fits that bill quite well. At 6-foot-7 and 236 pounds, the former Volunteers star has the size and speed to find success at the next level. He also has shown an ability to have an impact on the both sides of the court, averaging 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
He also shot 56.5 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from beyond the arc in his third and final season at Tennessee.
Thanks to his size and versatility, Williams could serve as a dangerous weapon at the small forward position. He could also certainly fill in at the power forward spot if the Heat decide to go with a small lineup at any point in the 2019-20 season.
However you cut it, the Heat would be more than happy to get Williams on their roster. They’ll have to wait until next month to find out if they’re able to do so.
