June 18th, 2013 will forever be marked as one of the greatest moments in South Florida sports history. It wasn’t the day the Miami Heat won a world championship, rather it was how they miraculously staved off elimination against the San Antonio Spurs.
The one thing that all NBA fans will undoubtedly remember from that 2013 championship run is the unbelievable Ray Allen three-pointer to force overtime. LeBron James called it the best game he has ever been a part of. It probably tops the list of most iconic moments of the Big 3 era.

ESPN definitely thinks so. They recently released the last installment of the best NBA Finals games ever and the 2013 Finals Game 6 is at No. 1, sitting a mark above the rest. And yes that includes Michael Jordan and his famous crossover game-winner against the Utah Jazz in 1998.
Looking at the game as a whole, even before the famous Allen shot, it’s hard to overlook the triple-double that LeBron James posted that night. In one of his best NBA Finals games ever he led the Heat with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.
With all of James’ heroics and the Heat still down five with 30 seconds to go in the game, the Heat pulled out an unbelievable sequence that ended with the corner three-pointer from Allen.
“Rebound (Chris) Bosh. Back out to Allen. His three-pointer — BANG,” Mike Breen screamed over the eruption in AAA Arena.
Allen and his wife recently opened up Grown, a heathy foods restaurant, in South Miami. If you happen to stop by, thank him for the food and for helping bring home that third NBA championship.
