Dwyane Wade and Stephen Curry

In the wake of having his parents heckled by fans of the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry spoke about the inevitability of such situations. He also indicated that such moments are pretty much ignored by players, something that brought praise from retired Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.

A social media post captured the incident involving Curry’s parents, which included foul language coming from fans along with the aforementioned heckling

Curry was asked about the situation and noted that the idea of waiting outside a hotel to heckle someone was “kind of stupid,” while also offering insight into the Warriors’ approach in dealing with such behavior:

“We handle all that stuff with class and try to ignore it the best we can, and if they get something out of it, so be it. But it doesn’t affect us at all in terms of what we’re trying to do and how we carry ourselves as this team, as players, and people that represent us and our families as well.”

That response resulted in a brief, but telling opinion from Wade on Twitter:

Both Wade and Curry have been part of three NBA title teams, with Curry trying to take claim his fourth by winning the Warriors’ third consecutive championship.

At the moment, Curry and company are behind 3-2 in the best-of-seven series to Toronto, with Game 6 set for Thursday night in Oracle Arena.
