The Miami Heat’s Big 3 of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh produced two titles in four years.
Despite their success, Wade doesn’t believe their Big 3 eclipsed all others to be considered the best of all time.
On Friday, during a three-way talk between Wade, Udonis Haslem and Channing Frye on Bleacher Report’s “Run It Back,” Wade questioned whether their 2010 to 2014 Big 3 was the best ever.
“Are we the best of all time?” Wade asked. “Probably not, but we’re definitely one of the top in the sense of the body of work that we put in in those four years.
“But are we the best? That’s not for me to say, but we’re definitely one of the best.”
Haslem, one of their Heat teammates during that era, agreed with Wade that their Big 3 wasn’t the greatest in league history. Nevertheless, the Heat veteran believes they should be near the top.
“I will say they would be second because you would never know,” Haslem said.
His pick for the best Big 3 ever? The Chicago Bulls’ Big 3 of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.
One of the greatest achievements that the Heat’s Big 3 accomplished was setting the second-longest winning streak record. During a 53-day span, the 2012-13 Heat reeled off 27 straight wins en route to a franchise-record 66-16 win-loss card in the regular season.
The Heat were only six wins away from the NBA record of 33 consecutive victories held by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers, which had a Big 3 of their own in Jerry West, Gail Goodrich and Wilt Chamberlain.
